Swings sets are always a highlight when our babies become toddlers. They love the freedom of swinging in the air and creating new adventures. Many swing sets can be so much fun for the whole family. Many of them now are small playgrounds all in one swing set. They have little clubhouses that the toddler can climb to and slides for coming back down. But with these swing sets come many dangers.
No toddler should be left unattended while they are on the swing sets. The swing set can be the best made set in the world, but if a toddler climbs too high or loses their balance, they can be hurt easily. There are many things to look for when purchasing a swing set and safety issues should be number one. There should always be a five point harness on the swings so your little one cannot fall out. The springs and metal screws should be flush with any wood and the railings of a higher clubhouse have to be sturdy and close together.
There have been too many accidents that have been reported with toddlers and swing sets. Trampolines are another dangerous play set that needs constant attention and netting on the sides for protection. Toddlers should not even get on a trampoline unless they have complete balance and strength to handle the resistance and jumping. Swing sets can be wonderful for your toddler as long as you show them how to properly get in and out of the seats. Make sure they are strapped inside according to the directions so they can enjoy a safe ride.
